Dogs are $75.00 and up while cats are $50.00. All pets are spayed or neutered and up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm prevention as of the date they are adopted. In order to gain some control of the overwhelming population of unwanted pets in this county, we have worked tirelessly to implement stringent spay/neuter policies. Every pet that is adopted from Sierra's Haven is spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We do early-age altering of any animals 2 pounds or 2 months of age and up. This is endorsed by the Humane Society of the United States.

OUR ADOPTION CONTRACT
1. I hereby agree that the above-described animal is being adopted by me solely as a pet for myself and/or my immediate family
2. I agree to provide proper food, water, adequate shelter, and kind treatment at all times.
3. I agree to take the animal to a veterinarian for examinations/immunizations as needed and to procure immediate veterinary care, at my own expense, should the animal become ill or injured.
4.I agree to license the animal in compliance with the laws and ordinances in force in the municipality in which I live.
5. I agree to notify Sierra’s Haven for New and Used Pets if I decide at any time that I can no longer keep the animal.
6.I agree not to let the animal be used for medical or other experimental purposes.
7.I understand that Sierra’s Haven for New and Used Pets can not guarantee the health, temperament, or training of the above described animal and hereby release them of all liability once the animal is in my possession.
8.I further understand that I may have to give up custody of a stray animal if the former owner claims it within of thirty (30) calendar days of my adoption.
9.I understand that Sierra's Haven for New and Used Pets does not adopt pets to be tied up or confined to a small area with minimal interaction with owners. If we check our animals after adoption and find that their living situation is not to our satisfaction and standards, the pet can be confiscated and returned to the shelter.
10.If I am adopting a pet that is too small to spay or neuter, I understand that it must be brought back within a month to have the surgery.
11.I understand that all fees are Non-refundable and Non-negotiable
12.I have read this section. I have had it explained to me and I completely understand and accept the rights and obligations involved.
13.I understand that Sierra's Haven for New and Used Pets cannot guarantee the health of adopted puppies and/or kittens as they are strays with unknown histories and have weak immune systems. I also understand that if the puppy or kitten that I adopt becomes sick within 10 days of adoption, I can return it for a full refound of the adoption fee. However, if I choose to have the pet treated and retain ownership, Sierra's Haven for New and Used Pets will apply the adoption fee I paid toward the treatment costs at Shawnee Animal Clinic only, and thus be relieved of any further obligations as they are a non-profit organization and funding is limited.
14.REMEDY FOR NON-COMPLIANCE: It is agreed that Sierra’s Haven for New and Used pets retains superior title in said animal. If in the event it appears the guidelines specified above are not followed, the animal may be taken through a Claim and Delivery Proceeding
