In Loving Memory of Essiemae “Midge” McGlone, 83, a longtime resident of Rosemount and more recent resident of Hempstead Manor, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.

She was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Coy Russell and Nellie R. Craft McGlone.

Midge attended Portsmouth City Schools and was a 1947 graduate of Clay High School and a graduate of the Ohio State University. She was a member of Valley United Methodist Church, the Hempstead Helping Hands Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star-Chapter 424, and a former member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was employed at William’s Manufacturing, the Atomic Energy Plant and Patsy’s Inn before pursuing a degree in dietary at Ohio State after which she was employed at Holiday Inn and a Columbus nursing facility. She left Columbus and came back to Portsmouth to care for her parents and later worked at Frisch’s Big Boy. Midge spent her entire life helping others.

Surviving are a brother, Coy R. (Joyce) McGlone, Jr. of Goshen, Ohio; a niece whom she reared as her own, Susie Lake Moritz of Largo, Fla.; and many other special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Lloyd, Jack and K.O. “Big Red” McGlone; five sisters, Annie McGlone, Wanda Lake, Patty Smith, and Clydella “Tweed” Gable and Thelma Boldman; and a nephew whom she reared as her own, Floyd Russell “Rusty” Smith.
